Welcome to the CU Complete Service update page. My name is Kathryn Tisdale. I am the Director of Student Services at the Division of Continuing Education and Professional StudiesĀ at CU-Boulder, and the CU Complete project manager. This page will offer periodic, blog-style updates about CU Complete, what we learn from the process and any other interesting tidbits I can throw your way.
In February 2009, CU-Boulder was awarded a grant from the Lumina Foundation to participate in the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE)’s Non-traditional No More project to initiate CU Complete. Since then, staff at CU’s Division of Continuing Education have been working with an initial group of sixty students who responded to media coverage of the service.
CU Complete’s uniquie “concierge” approach recognizes that not all students will find the program that best meets their needs at only one institution of higher learning. Based on the students’ individual needs, our CU Complete staff may recommend students to degree programs offered at other colleges and universities in Colorado.
Later this month, CU will reach out to over 300 students identified as meeting the “ready adult” criteria defined by WICHE with the goal of helping them complete the degrees they began years ago. These students were enrolled at CU between 2002-2006, are 25+ years of age, have a GPA of at least 2.5, and completed at least 60 credit-hours of course work. While we would be thrilled to hear back from every student, we are hopeful that we will hear back from at least 50.
