CE Evening Credit Format
CE Evening Credit courses give you more learning options during the fall and spring semesters. CE evening credits are just like those awarded on main campus. Grades count toward your GPA and your transcript doesn’t distinguish between evening and daytime courses.
Some of our courses are in a unique hybrid format, which consists of course work conducted both online and in the classroom. Please read the course description carefully to determine if your course is a classroom-online hybrid offering. These courses require consistent and dependable Internet access.
Vaccination Requirements for Nondegree Students
All nondegree students residing in the state of Colorado must meet the campus vaccination requirements.
Nondegree students born on or after January 1, 1957 must submit proof of two (2) doses each of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination. If you have previously submitted these during an earlier term, you do NOT need to resubmit.
Learn more about the vaccination requirements and submission for nondegree students on the Health & Wellness Requirements Page.
If you have questions about these requirements, please contact us at ceadvise@colorado.edu.
Final Exams and Grades for CE Evening Credit
Final exams are held the last day of the class. Final grades will be available on Buff Portal approximately 2 weeks after a class ends. If you need an official transcript, visit the registrar’s office website for information.
Parking and Campus Map
Course locations are included in each course description. For information about parking at night at CU Boulder, see the Parking & Transportation Services website. To find a building, refer to the CU Boulder campus map.
Financial Aid Advising
Students enrolled in university credit courses through Continuing Education may be eligible for financial assistance. Continuing Education has a financial aid advisor to assist you in exploring all the options available to you, whether you are a degree or nondegree student.
Detailed information about how to receive federal financial aid is available on the CU Boulder Financial Aid website.
Email questions to our Financial Aid Advisor at cefinaid@colorado.edu.
Academic Advising Through Continuing Education
Our academic advisors can help you plan your course of study and schedule. We are here to assist:
- Current main campus students looking for ways to earn credit and stay on schedule to graduate,
- Returning students interested in completing their degrees,
- New students focused on earning college credits without interrupting work and family schedules.
Schedule an appointment with our Academic Advisors. You can also call us at 303-492-5148 or email us at ceadvise@colorado.edu.
No matter the situation, we are committed to helping you explore your educational goals.
Online Composition Hub
The Online Composition Hub is a free tutoring service for writing open to students enrolled in Continuing Education Evening and Online Credit courses. The online platform uses tools to help students access experienced, peer tutors who provide guidance and review student work.
Tutors specialize in helping students with traditional papers, but they can also assist with web design, video, blogging, Prezi, PowerPoint, and other projects. Professional materials, such as resumes, cover letters, applications, and research projects are also acceptable.
Tutors and students share assignments via Google Docs. Students have the option of communicating with tutors synchronously—online at the same time as a tutor and talking via chat, Skype, or Google Hangout—or asynchronously—tutors provide feedback within 24 hours of the appointment time.
CE Evening Credit Course Availability
CE Evening Credit courses are offered only during the fall and spring semesters. If you are interested in taking courses during the summer, please visit the Summer Session website to learn more.
Eligibility to Enroll in Credit Courses

If you are under 23 years of age as of Sept. 15 for fall or Jan. 15 for spring, and not officially admitted or enrolled in a CU Boulder degree program, you must submit unofficial copies of either your high school equivalency scores or your high school transcript for review. If you believe you meet the prerequisite from an outside university or have additional questions about prerequisite approvals, please connect with a CE advisor by scheduling an appointment or emailing ceadvise@colorado.edu.
